On the first of January we all got up reasonably early and headed down to South Queensferry as Nathan was taking part in the Loony Dook!
This is a tradition involving running into the icy cold Firth of Forth to clear your head after the night befores festivities! I think it is pretty much obligatory to do the loony dook in fancy dress.
So Nathan raided our dressing up box and went off with a Marilynn Munroe wig and a pair of avaitors!
Everyone who participates raises money for charity and Nathan and his pal Owen were no exception. Owen was using the event to kick start his year of charity events for which he is raising money for diabetes uk. See his website here. www.thechallenginggit.com you can also see an article on his charity fundraising here.
It was so nice to have my Mum, Hillary, Nathan's parents and Wendy, Katie and Wendy's sister and brother and law with us to. Lily and Neil even brought fizz to celebrate with... as well as very tasty smoked salmon nibbles!
